How to Update Trackpilots App on macOS

We’ve launched a new version of the Trackpilots desktop app for macOS, packed with improvements and new features. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you update smoothly.

The latest version includes important upgrades that improve performance, fix bugs, and deliver a better user experience. To continue using TrackPilots without interruptions, updating is mandatory.

🧹 Before updating Trackpilots, please remove any previously installed TrackPilots desktop app permissions from your Mac system.
This ensures there are no conflicts with critical permissions like:

• Screen Recording

• Accessibility

You can do this by going to:

System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording / Accessibility
Find the old TrackPilots app and uncheck or remove it.

Click the link below to download the latest version of the app:

• Once the .dmg file is downloaded, double-click to open it.

• Drag and drop the Trackpilots app into your Applications folder.

• If prompted with a message saying the app already exists, click Replace.

• Open Trackpilots from the Applications folder.

• The new version will now be running with the latest features and updates.

If you see a message like:

“Trackpilots can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.”

This is normal since the app is not notarized by Apple. To bypass it:

1. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security




2. Scroll down to find Open Anyway for TrackPilots and click it.

3. Confirm by clicking Open when prompted.

• ✅ When installing, click Replace if asked about replacing the old app.

• ✅ After installing, launch the app and grant permissions for:

  • Screen Recording

  • Accessibility

• ✅ If permissions were previously removed, you’ll be prompted to re-enable them.

If you're seeing the update prompt in the current app, click:

👉 Click here to quit and update (In-app only)

This will safely close the current version so you can install the update without issues.
